"Hey, You Guys!"

Cold. I don't like being cold! And the last few days, in spite of it being "spring", it has been especially cold. (brrrrrrr)

Now, don't get me wrong, I don't particularly like being hot either.

No, what I like is being comfortable. Who wouldn't?? It's right in the name - "comfort" -able! Ah, how I'd like to be able to just set my thermostat to something comfortable ... like 70 degrees. That would be great ... fantastic ... frickin' comfortable, man!

But, oh no, can't do that. In the winter, we set the thermostat to 65 degrees (in the day) and 55 degrees at night. And, in the summer, 82 degrees.

Cold in the Winter / Hot in the Summer - that's our life.

I'd like to say we are concerned about the environment and don't want to waste energy. But, mostly, it's that we can't afford to use our heat and air conditioner too much. Why? Because the electric companies are screwing us! That's right. Maybe you thought it was because of the price of oil, but mostly they use coal, not oil to generate electricity. No, it's because they can get away with overcharging - we are letting them, the government is letting them, and they are making huge profits, while we freeze (or burn) our butts off.
