A Morning of Surprise Facts ...

I got my Monday morning e-newsletter from Meatless Monday, and found out a few things that I didn't know:
  1. I'm obese! This was an incredible shock - I had absolutely no clue.
  2. My son is an anomaly. We are vegetarians, our son is "anti-vegetarian" (he eats virtually no fruits and vegetables) - he's also the top student in his class. From this article:
Plus, studies in children as young as 2 and as old as teens consistently show that offspring follow parents' eating patterns. So the more fruit and vegetables you eat, the greater the chances that your children will eat more, too ... A study of 36,000 Minnesota adolescents points to a correlation with academic performance, too. Teens who earned the highest grades were also more likely to eat more fruit and vegetables.
  3. I'm an anomaly, too! See, I've been telling my scale that it's gotta be wrong - and the science agrees with me.
In a totally un-related story:

I have gotta get a new mouse! Mine has developed a double-click disease which makes doing anything on the computer a test of patience (which, by the way, I do not have in any great abundance). Today, it has also developed an energy-wasting disease and is blinking red at me after a full night in the charger.

Don't feel bad, I'm obese too! I did this thing on the Biggest Loser website. They also have my ideal weight lower than my weight in high school, and I was sickly then! So I don't trust it! ha ha
